On the Cutting Edge of
Emergency Nursing

We invite you to explore the opportunities in a hospital that has the highest degree of respect for its nurses and takes great pride in the quality of care we provide and in the integrity of our institution!

Hartford Hospital is one of Connecticut’s tertiary medical centers, and regional Level 1 Trauma Center. We offer a variety of complex and innovative challenges. We are a leader in cutting edge technology that has a reputation for providing exceptional care to those in need and is built on the foundation of excellence in patient care, teaching, and research. Hartford Hospital has nationally accredited centers of excellence in Stroke care, Cardiac care and Connecticut’s only dually accredited Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence. We also are the only Connecticut designated VAD center. The Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center at Hartford Hospital is the only hospital in the Northeast with a National Cancer Institute community cancer program.

Our ED treats over 102,000 adult patients per year with conditions ranging from major trauma, heart attacks, and strokes to minor illness. The ED has 6 major resuscitation rooms, 61 acute care examination and treatment rooms, 18 fast track rooms, and a separate 23 room behavioral health area. The department works closely with Lifestar, Connecticut’s only air medical transport service, as well as Connecticut Children’s Medical Center (CCMC) located on the property of Hartford Hospital.
