  • SCM Changes To Support Stage 1 of Meaningful Use Begins May 1, 2012
Starting May 1, 2012, changes will occur in Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM) that support the requirements for Stage 1 of Meaningful Use as well as the HHC Balanced Score Card initiative for the Discharge Process. Stage 1 requires a 90-day attestation period of compliance to the requirements, and our attestation period will start June 1. Provider support is paramount in the success of this process. View details on these changes, along with an implementation schedule.

  • New SCM PCP Clinical Summary Screen
In response to suggestions to consolidate pertinent patient information in Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM), we have created a new PCP Clinical Summary screen. This clinical summary, based on recommendations from our physicians, is designed to alleviate the need to search through multiple screens to find documentation regarding your patients' hospitalizations.

We hope you'll find this a more efficient way to locate patient information and we look to you for additional suggestions and feedback. If you have any questions or comments, please reach out to any of the following individuals:

  • Updated On Call Policy
An on call policy was originally established and approved in November 2009. For practical and regulatory reasons, that policy needed some updating. The revised policy was discussed and approved by the Med Executive Committee on 9/19/11. The policy changes will insure that our patients continue to receive timely and appropriate care. • CME Desktop Live View is Now Active!
Any clinician or physician who requires CMEs to maintain their license to practice can now view grand rounds, tumor boards and other conferences LIVE from a hospital-connected computer. Gilman Auditorium, Bliss 303 and JB-118 have been outfitted with the technology that will provide you live viewing of these presentations. Look for the new "CME Live View" icon on your desktop or find a link on the Medical Education Intranet page. Click here for more info.

  • e-Prescribing
To promote adoption of the e-Prescribing system, the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008 (MIPPA) established a five‐year program of incentive payments of eligible professionals when they e-Prescribe for Medicare patients seen in their offices. Physicians who are eligible for the incentive payments but fail to adopt e‐Prescribing will face penalties beginning in 2012.
