|For the sixth year, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, Hartford Hospital, and Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center are collaborating with the City of Hartford, Hartford Police Department, the Hartford State’s Attorney’s Office and Community Renewal Team (CRT) to help get guns off the streets. Each year, hundreds of crimes and accidental injuries occur in Connecticut as a result of the misuse of handguns.|

HARTFORD — The story of Connecticut's first successful heart transplant is one of tragedy, persistence, luck, and, ultimately, triumph.
Thirty years later, the recipient, 64-year old Andy Buczek, says he still has a great deal to be thankful for after a massive heart attack destroyed his heart.
