Marie Pugliese Marie Pugliese, Retirement Counselor
Marie Pugliese, who holds 30-plus years of customer assistance experience, shares her warmth and sincerity in welcoming and acclimating new residents to Cedar Mountain Commons. Her background in assisted living, retirement services, college admissions and marketing gives her multi-faceted expertise in assessing the needs and building relationships with individuals and families. Jo Anne Kuncas Jo Anne Kuncas, MS, RN-BC, CMC, Resident Care Director
Jo Anne Kuncas is recognized by her peers as a nursing leader in the assisted living industry. A recipient of the Connecticut Assisted Living Association’s Distinguished Service and Board Chair awards, she holds more than 40 years of experience in the nursing field as an educator, care manager and director of resident care. Jo Anne, who is board certified as a gerontological nurse by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, is skilled at recognizing resident needs, arranging the appropriate services to maximize resident independence and keeping her staff current with the latest caregiver trends and best practices.
Teri Koza-Bliven Teri Koza-Bliven, Resident Service Coordinator and Social Worker
Teri Koza-Bliven brings more than 35 years of experience in the health care field as a case manager and counselor, and case worker/placement coordinator at Hartford Hospital. Now she closely works with residents and families to facilitate a smooth transition from independent living in their own home to the Cedar Mountain Commons community, addressing individual needs and issues to ensure that each person successfully acclimates. She also provides assistance with coordinating health care services as residents age in place and serves as a resource for community supports. She values the relationships she builds with every individual and their families.
Thomas Pleva Thomas Pleva, Executive Chef
With a culinary arts degree and more than 30 years in various food industries, including the restaurant business, Tom Pleva’s excellent interpersonal skills, leadership and self-starter attitude make him an invaluable part of the Cedar Mountain Commons team. He goes above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to meeting residents’ needs and preferences. Debra Labbe Debra Labbe, Activity Director
Debbie Labbe has more than 25 years of experience developing and managing various educational and recreational projects in the health care industry. Debbie’s strong communication skills, flair for creativity and ability to be an involved participant in the residents’ lives has earned her recognition from the Connecticut Assisted Living Association, which acknowledged her Great Artists program with a Managed Residential Services Award. In 2014, Debbie received a Clarence J. Silvia Leadership Award for her exemplary dedication to Cedar Mountain Commons and its residents.
Diovadis Perez Diovadis Perez, Director of Plant Services
A true team player and former Jefferson House Employee of the Year, Diovadis Perez is responsible for the housekeeping, grounds and building maintenance of Cedar Mountain Commons. With more than 20 years’ experience, Diovadis is known as the “Johnny on the spot.” He is dedicated to quality service and committed to providing a clean and safe living and working environment for residents, their families, guests and staff.
